Elekta, a company that is a pioneer in radiation therapy, is the company to first offer on board imaging along with intensity modulated radiation therapy (IMRT) and image guided radiation therapy (IGRT) capabilities. ARO is the first to offer this technology by Elekta in the Northern Virginia area. ARO chose the Elekta Synergy over all other manufacturers because of its superior technology. On Board Imaging allows the physicians of ARO to image patients prior to treatment delivery therefore assuring exact patient set up within millimeters of accuracy. With the skill and expertise of the physicians of ARO, specialized treatments such as IMRT and IGRT can be delivered with pinpoint accuracy. The equipment is also equipped with an electronic portal imager that allows for digital images taken at the time of treatment.
